RTCW
- May 8th, 2010
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is built on the id Tech 3 engine and is, arguably, the most enjoyable WWII FPS to date. Return to Castle Wolfenstein (RTCW) is focused less on “realism” than it is being an enjoyable Team Based FPS video game. Since its release in 2000, I have created a handful of custom RTCW maps. My environments include everything from a sprawling outdoor gorge, a dark and industrial factory, to a typical American neighborhood.
Note: If you have Return to Castle Wolfenstein, you can Download and play any of the following maps from my Downloads page.
OGG_SNIPERS
This map was designed to accommodate a sprawling outdoor sniper war. It takes place on two half’s of a gorge, with a river running between them. There is a large bridge to cut across to either side. And both areas are full of climbable trees, scalable mountains, and countless other hiding locations.
MP_MURDERX
MP_murderx takes place in a dark and industrial Nazi factory that is producing a new and powerful poison. For their part the allies must destroy the factory and escape with the deadly recipe. The poison is called MurderX, in homage to the clan I was apart of in 2001. The map is very large in scale for being primarily indoors, and could easily accommodate 8 person team battles.
OGG_TOURNEY1
Originally titled DM_Arena, this map was re-made to facilitate an online competition organized by the Online Gamers Guild. It is a straight DM style map with no objectives other than to gain the most points via # of kills. The map is not ideal for Pub play for this reason, and should purely be used as a competition or Clan Practice map.
ALLIED_HOME
Originally titled Red Oak, Allied Home was designed to emulate a very specific, and ominous, attack on an American neighborhood. As the match continues, the map includes exploding Nazi planes and crumbling American homes. It is currently unfinished, but I am hoping to wrap it up by the summer of 2010.
